Daily routine.

I would rock cake face every day, if I could. I’d never leave my place without looking like I just stepped out of a YouTube video. But in reality, a girl just ain’t got time for that. As the great Coco Chanel once said, “Simplicity is the key note of all the elegance.” As much as I love putting on makeup, there is just something about the simplicity of a fresh “no makeup” look. Although I can’t go completely without makeup or else I’d look like a zombie crawling through Atlanta. So, today I am going to share my daily make up routine.

Most days, I do my makeup after a shower. If not, I wash my face before I apply any makeup. Once my skin is completely dry, I immediately apply a layer of Chanel Hydra Beauty Créme all over my face and neck. Moisturizing is a step you should never skip because it helps hydrate the skin. It is an important factor to how your skin looks and feels. This is also when I moisturize my lips with Burt’s Bees Lip Balm in Coconut and Pear.

After applying the emollients, I move on to my brows. I do this next because I like to give my moisturizer some time to dry and settle in. To fill my brows I use the Elf Eyebrow Kit in medium. To my surprise, this product applies flawlessly. And finding a drugstore product that works like high end is always a win.

I have fairly clear skin with some discoloration in a few spot so a foundation with light to medium coverage is ideal. My favorite to use is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind in 190 Nude. It is very light on the skin and has an SPF 18. The easy application is ample for those days when I ain’t got the time! On the extra dry days, I use Physician’s Formula Argan Wear BB Cream for some extra moisture. This BB Cream has a SPF 30 so it’s great for those outdoor days.

I typically keep my eye makeup simple with just eyeliner and mascara. My go-to is a winged liner using the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink. I curl my lashes using the MAC Full Lash Curler and apply L’Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes Excess mascara in Blackest Black.

To add some color to my face, I use the Physician’s Formula Botanical Bronzer in Sunny Buddy. I finish it up with Revlon Photoready Skinlights Face Illuminator.
