A Disney themed post in honor of Mr. Walt Disney’s birthday! My Disney visits were limited this year, due to my “adult responsibilities.” I was able to visit the Happiest Place on Earth in June while my oldest/dearest friend and her family were on a vacation from Guam. And since her daughter’s 7th birthday was in May, there was only one way to celebrate – Disneyland!
R and I started our road trip from Vegas at around 6AM. The drive was smooth and quick without too much traffic delays. We finally got to Anaheim a little after 10AM. Checked in to our room at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott so we wouldn’t have to worry about it later. I’ve never stayed at this hotel before but it’ll be the first of many! Not only was it super convenient because it’s across the street from the Disneyland gates, but the rooms are Disney themed as well. Our room was Toy Story themed which was great because I don’t think Ron would’ve liked staying in a princess room. Lol.
After settling in, we finally walked over to Disneyland. Did I mention how convenient it is to be right across the street?! I was worried the weather would be bad since it was over 100 in Las Vegas but the weather was great! It was a bit warm but nothing a yummy Dole Whip can’t fix. It wasn’t as crowded as it could be because schools were still in session.
I’ve never seen the Aladdin play and since it’s nearing its final days at DL, I made it a point to see it this time around. I don’t know why I didn’t make the time to see it before! The show was amazing and super funny!
It was a great and fun filled day at Disneyland. Lots of rides. Lots of churros. And lots turkey legs and chimichangas. Although, Ron and I did end up going back to the room in the middle of the day to take a nap.
Another to add to the books. I’m happy I got to share this experience with some of my favorite people!
Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. DISNEY!
