The Wizarding World

Wandrland is ONE today! No better celebratory post than a post about my trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It is no secret that I’m a huge Harry Potter fan. I first read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone as a class assignment in the 4th grade and I’ve been hooked ever since. Imagine my excitement as a child when I found out my favorite book series was being made into a movie. Now imagine how much more excited I was as an adult to find out Harry Potter was being brought to life as a theme park. Yes. Just yes.

Random Fact: Till this day, I’ve never seen a Harry Potter movie preview. I refused to watch them because I’ve read the books so much that I would try to play the whole movie in my mind based off of the preview and I didn’t want to ruin it for myself.

It’s been a minute since our last trip to Universal Studios. Our annual passes expired early last fall and we haven’t been since. Ron and I had corresponding days off one week and spontaneously decided to take a trip to Universal Studios. And when I say spontaneous I mean we made the decision to go at 11pm, I booked the room at 2am, and we started driving at 3am.

It was crazy how much attention they paid to details. Universal Studios did an amazing job bringing The Wizarding World to life. I did way to many “Oooh” “Oh my gosh, look!” “Whaaat?!” “Look, its….” to count that I’m sure Ron was getting tired of hearing it.

Hogwarts was probably my favorite. I swear, my eyes lit up like a child on Christmas morning when we walked up to the castle.

We headed into Hogsmeade’s local watering hole, Hog’s Head for some drinks. I had the frozen butterbeer while Ron opted for a real beer. I’m a fan of butterscotch so I enjoyed my drink. It was a bit on the sweet side but I ain’t complaining about that!
